Here is a glimpse at what the Indian River 4-H Horsemasters do.  We learn, we lead, we serve, we compete, and we enjoy. Most of all, we bond.

We make friends and reach out to include and encourage one another. We learn to win and to lose gracefully. We gather business skills as we network with our sponsors and maintain record books on our projects.

Each year, our club members hone their public speaking skills by delivering a speech or demonstration. They present at the club level, county level, and district level. Many have gone on to present at the State and National levels.

The confidence our members have gained through 4-H has been instrumental in their pursuing careers in a variety of areas, including equine pharmaceutical, business administration, veterinary science, barn management, nursing, marketing, horse judging, teaching, horse training, personal training, emergency rescue, immigration coordination, law, real estate, photography, videography and sales. Some of our members have gone on to become 4-H extension agents.

I trained my horse myself and it was not an easy path to take, but Mrs. Gollnick was always there supporting me and reassuring me that I would one day achieve my goals. She was not wrong, I have since achieved my goal of becoming a World Champion in Ranch Pleasure at the Pinto World Championships in 2014.
